Why Calibrate? Calibration allows the image quality to be “balanced” for your computer and scanner combination. If you switch the computer that you use with your scanner or change scanners, you must calibrate again for optimal image quality.

Why the Black and White Calibration Card? This calibration process uses the special black and white calibration sheet that was included with your scanner. The perfect black color, perfect white color and glossy surface on this calibration sheet allow for perfect calibration. When calibrating, make sure the page with the black bars is facing down and note the direction of the arrows for proper insertion. When the calibration process has been completed successfully, you will see the "successful calibration"message; otherwise you will need to re-calibrate again.

I Don't Have a Calibration Card and Need it NOW!: You are likely scanning on-the-go and using a different computer and realize you don't have the special calibration sheet provided with your DSmobile 600. No worries, instructions and a PDF of the calibration card are provided below.

Try a White Piece of Paper: If you lose or forget the black and white calibration paper that was included with your scanner, you can also use any plain “White” (the brighter the “White” the better) piece of letter size (or A4) printer paper to perform the calibration. Calibrating with only white paper will display the following message: White-only calibration was successful. Calibrate again when possible using the black and white calibration paper. White-only calibration may be good enough for your current scanning needs, though if you notice image quality problems you likely need the black and white sheet to calibrate correctly. You can download a PDF version of the special calibration sheet below, print it, and use it to temporarily calibrate your DSmobile 600.

Download a DSmobile 600 Calibration Sheet PDF NOW!: If white-only calibration does not suffice, you can download a PDF of the calibration sheet, print it, and use it to calibrate your DSmobile 600. Results may vary depending on the quality of the black color your printer can print when you print the calibration sheet. As long as the black part of the sheet is solid and dark, you can get a successful black and white calibration, and have a calibration celebration!
