DSmobile USB (Obsolete Model) PC/Windows TWAIN Driver
TWAIN is a standard scanner driver/software in image acquisition. TWAIN allows any TWAIN compliant software application to work with the original Pentax DSmobile USB scanner. If you have lost or misplaced your copy of the software CD that was supplied with your purchase of the original DSmobile USB scanner, you can download the necessary driver below:

Driver Installation Instructions

(For Windows 98, Me, 2000, and XP PCs supporting USB function)

  1. Download the Twain Driver.zip file.
  2. Decompress (unzip) the .zip file into a folder, you will see 4 files: DSmobile.dll, DSmobile.ds, DSmobile.inf, and Nscstiu.dll.
    If you do not know how to decompress a .zip file go to http://www.winzip.com to learn more and download a free trial of Winzip file compression software.
  3. Plug in the scanner in the USB port.
  4. Your computer will say "Found New Hardware", click Next.
  5. Select "Search for a suitable driver for my device", click Next.
  6. Select "Specify a location", click Next.
  7. Click Browse and locate the file DSmobile.inf, click OK.
  8. Your computer will say "Windows found a driver for this device", click Next.
  9. Your computer may say "File does not contain digital signature, do you wish to continue?", click Yes.
  10. Click Finish and you may need to restart your computer. You're done.

NOTE: Pentax cannot replace your original CD or the application software that was supplied with your purchase of the DSmobile USB scanner.
