New Solutions on CD 2.0

1)    Psion Workabout

·      The solution is designed for use with the PocketJet 200 printer only.

·      It includes both a “driver application” and “User Interface application” that will allow you to select and print any TEXT file. If preferred, the driver application may be used as a command line program.

·      The “driver application” may also be used with 3rd party application software designed to use our print solution.

2)    Linux

·      The complete solution is designed for use with both the PocketJet II and 200 printers, on X86-based Linux systems only.

·      It is an “open source” solution distributed according to the Linux GPL (General Public License), so it may be freely modified to match a different Linux-based target platform, such as embedded Linux systems with PowerPC processors.

·      It includes both a command-line driver as well as a utility program which may be used to pre-configure many aspects of the driver, including printer custom features, paper size, and printer port (Parallel, Serial, or USB only). The utility program also will automatically configure the driver for use with the LPD spooler.

·      It can print either PostScript or PBM data. For PostScript usage, it REQUIRES the existence of the program GhostScript, which may not yet be ported to other processor architectures, and so X86 systems may be required for using PostScript data.

3)    Symbian EPOC6 (ER6.0), Series60 (ER6.1), and Series70 (ER7) drivers

·      The solutions are designed for use with both the PocketJet II and 200 printers.

·      The EPOC6 (ER6.0) driver works ONLY with the Nokia 92xx Communicator phones, which are the only devices made which use this platform. This driver is provided on Driver CD 2.0. It works with both Irda (requires Irda cable version –555) and Serial (requires 6 inch PDA serial cable version –501) interfaces.

·      The Series60 and Series70 drivers are still in development. We will make them available via our website when they are ready. If you are interested, please contact Technical Support.
