PocketJet 200 Windows CE Driver Revision History

Version 1.6 (3/15/06)

1.    Added support for ARM920 processors on CE.NET 5.0

Version 1.5 (8/30/05)

1.    Modified CE.NET4 CAB files to use new PJUSBPRN.DLL, which asks only for 80 bytes in deviceID instead of 1024.

2.    Added CE.NET5 CAB files, which use a new PJUSBPRN.DLL (same as CE.NET4), and the MAIN change, which is to recompile the DRIVER DLL (PJ200.DLL) to use the new structure MS defined for GDIINFO

3.    SETUP PROGRAM CHANGES:

·      Modified APPTITLE to remove the version. This way, we don't have to modify the INI files everytime a version changes.

·      The INI files were modified to match this new way, and hopefully will never have to change again.

·      Added an INSTALLVERSION definition that is displayed on the Welcome screen.

·      SupportedDevices screen changed to list a different website URL.

·      Added support for CE.NET5 driver files, and added a selection in the SelectOS Version screen.

Version 1.4 (9/17/04)

1.    Added a NEW driver to support CE.NET version 4.0 and higher.

2.    CE.NET driver supports USB printing directly based on the new USB printing architecture that Microsoft added to the CE.NET device platform.

3.    CE.NET driver is compiled to use the NEWEST processors, and so in most cases it will not work on older CE devices. So, the CE.NET driver may only be installed onto devices that are version 4.0 and higher.

4.    Reset the CE 2.1 (and higher) driver to support devices only up to CE version 3.99.

Version 1.3 (8/20/03)

1.    The following changes were made ONLY for the CE2.1 (and higher) driver. They do not apply for the CE2.0 driver.

2.    Added “small screen” support for CE HPC devices with smaller screens. The screen size is automatically detected and the proper user interface dialog is chosen.

3.    Added support for the PocketPC platform. Microsoft added the standard WinCE printer driver architecture to theirPocketPC2000 or higher platform. However, since the standard built-in applications for PocketPC do NOT include support for printing, you must install a print-enabled application in order to use this driver. For example, application software that uses the “ReportCE” package from SyWare can use this driver and does not require any other 3rd party printing solutions. To print from the standard built-in applications, you will need to use the 3rd party “trial” applications, such as PrintPocketCE from Field Software.

4.    Added “Perforated Paper” check box, which will modify the printable area properly for all Paper Sizes when using perforated roll paper.

5.    Standard A4 paper size now allows a larger printable area, nearly to the bottom of the page, similar to Letter and Legal.

6.    Changed the default printer port to “Irda”.

7.    Fixed some bugs related to reading data from the Registry.

8.    Modified behavior of the Port Buffer Size control to allow optimal usage with both old and new Irda adapters.

Version 1.2 (4/6/01)

1.    Fixed Control Panel applet for WinCE 3.0 devices such as HP Jornada 720.

2.    Added a “Port Buffer Size” control

·      To allow optimization of the driver for the cable which is used (e.g. Serial, Irda, USB), since some of the cables are capable of accepting more data at a time than others.

·      To allow users with the Serial cable to optimize the device being used. Many CE devices either do not support the “Hardware Handshaking” mechanism, or have problems with “Software Handshaking” due to errors in the device’s serial port driver. Reducing the port buffer size used by the printer driver usually solves these errors.

3.    Added USB support. However, Pentax has made this support available only in a special version of the driver, since most WinCE devices do not have a USB port. To obtain this USB version of the driver, please contact technical support.

Version 1.1 (6/30/99)

1.    Minor fix for serial port problem with the Vadem Clio.

Version 1.0 (10/9/98)

1.    Created driver, for both CE 2.0 and CE 2.1 or higher devices. This is roughly equivalent to the version 1.1 WinCE driver for PocketJet II.
