Pentax PocketJet 3plus custom features include:
· Density (0-10), where 0 is lightest and 10 is darkest.
· 3plus Form Feed modes ("No Feed", "Fixed Page", and "End of Page")
· “Infinite” Paper Size (available only with Win9x/Me and Win2000/XP drivers). “Infinite” paper size will allow printing very long continuous data streams such as geological recordings or polygraph tests without a page break.
· “PerfLetter” and “PerfA4” paper sizes, which have a modified printable area to allow printing on Perforated Paper. This option gives the user the advantages of having a virtual paper feeder. NOTE: When using Perforated paper, it is necessary to choose one of these paper sizes. It is also necessary to select the “End of Page” Form Feed mode.
· “Prompt” or “Roll Paper Pause” Paper Source (available only with Win9x and Win2K drivers, respectively), to allow a pause to tear off each page while printing multiple page documents with Roll Paper. This feature is NOT available in Windows Vista.
Windows 2000/XP/Vista only features include:
· 2-ply Mode: When selected, the Density is increased to allow printing on special 2-ply paper. It is intended only for use with this special paper. However, it can be used to increase the density beyond level 10 for printing with regular 1-ply thermal paper. Print speed will decrease significantly.
· Paper Type: Select “Cutsheet”, “Roll”, or “Perforated Roll” based on the actual paper being used. This will modify the “printable area” for the paper size selected. Cutsheet provides the greatest printable area, followed by Roll, and Perforated Roll has the smallest. Note: “PerfLetter” and “PerfA4” paper sizes are equivalent to selecting “Perforated Roll” Paper Type and “Letter” or “A4” Paper Size.
· Custom Paper Size: To specify a custom paper size, go the Printers control panel, select “Server Properties”, and create a new Form on the “Forms” page. If the form that you define fits within the allowed size, this new form will be available as a paper size. Generally, this is only useful with Roll or Perforated Roll (with a custom-made perforation) paper.
Refer to the manual for more information.
The drivers typically work together with Microsoft’s Universal Print Driver, which also has some custom features. These features include selecting the Paper Size and Orientation, as well as Intensity and Halftone for graphics printing.
